Gallagher Bassett is committed to strategically investing in innovation and new technology to empower and assist our claims professionals and to improve experiences and outcomes for our clients.

Designed entirely by and for Gallagher Bassett, Claim Summarizer is a GenAI tool that streamlines the claims review process by generating detailed summaries across nine key categories, including coverage, medical and financial details, and status.

This tool provides a comprehensive summary of all claim notes, helping our claims professionals quickly get up to speed without sifting through multiple claims files and notes. Resolution managers (RMs) can use the tool to prepare for claim reviews or to facilitate operational discussions with Gallagher Bassett claim operations. With these insights at their fingertips, RMs and client service managers can make informed decisions quickly — even on newly assigned or unfamiliar claims — saving valuable time and driving improved outcomes and service for clients, claimants, and injured workers.

Claim Summarizer is integrated into Gallagher Bassett's in-house claim systems to ensure the responsible, safe, and ethical use of any data associated with claims. Gallagher Bassett's approach to GenAI includes two key focuses:

• Human-centric AI approach: Our GenAI platform is a powerful tool, but it doesn't replace the work our people do every day to serve clients. Our team of specialists, who are claim experts, review AI outputs for accuracy, completeness, tone, and concision. In addition, all Gallagher Bassett colleagues leveraging our GenAI platform check for accuracy before using any GenAI content.
• Our commitment to governance and risk: GenAI is rapidly evolving and can provide many potential benefits and risks. Gallagher Bassett is committed using these tools responsibly and ethically. Our GenAI Governance council includes representatives from all departments and regions. They're responsible for ensuring our innovative tools are used in accordance with all laws and regulations as well as our ethical values.
