Employer choice
Eligible employers can transfer to a different Claims Service Provider on their policy renewal date with 14 days notice. The employer eligibility criteria is determined by icare. Employers with an Average Performance Premium (APP) of above $500,000 (or part of a Group with Group APP of above $500,000) are eligible. For more information on employer choice, refer to icare's website.
iCare workers' compensation premiums will increase in 2024-25
This increase aligns with a statutory direction made by the Workplace Health and Safety Minister capping premium increases at an average of 8% over a three-year period. The additional revenue raised will assist icare's Nominal Insurer scheme in returning to a break-even level of funding.
Please note that individual employers may be subject to premium adjustments that vary from the 8% average, with changes being based on factors such as industry, claims history, safety performance, and risk factors.
Note that discounts and rewards are available for employers seeking to lower their premiums.
For more information about the premiums for New South Wales employers in the 2024/25 financial year, and for further reading and resources, review icare's update.
